If you’ve ever tried to hang anything on your walls, you’ll know it can be a frustrating task that feels impossible to get right.

First, you have to make sure you hammer the nail in the right spot, then, you have to try and hook your frame onto the nail, which often involves a lot of misses.

Once it’s on, so begins the seemingly never-ending process of ensuring it’s straight.

You’ll make some adjustments, stand back to assess and think, hmm… still not quite right. Then, you do this about 10 more times until you give up and think, that’ll do.

Luckily, one clever person online has shared a mind-blowing hack that changes the frame-hanging game as we know it.

And it involves none other than a humble piece of cutlery.

According to the Instagram page @tommyigoe, a fork can help you hang frames perfectly every time.

Here’s how to do it.

After hammering the nail into the wall, grab your fork and wedge it upside down onto the nail so the back of the fork is facing the wall.

The prongs of your fork should be hugging the nail tightly so it won’t budge.

Next, use the fork as a guide and lift your frame over it and down onto the nail. Then, remove the fork and voila!

Your frame will be hung in just a few seconds.

@tommyigoe captioned the clip: “Let’s locate whoever thought of this and have them solve all the world’s problems!”

The comments were a mix of awe and shock, as many people were in disbelief at how easy it looked.

“OMG, the number of times I have had to contort to get behind paintings!” one person said.

Another joked: “Eroding my ‘manly confidence’ one video at a time.”

And a third said: “Dammn, this is next level.”

“This is definitely a game changer. I spent minutes trying to hinge some frames to wall hooks a few weeks ago,” someone else commented.

“I’m a contractor and I will definitely be trying this,” concluded another.
